What to Expect

Our day begins with a guided shopping tour. Together we will visit local markets, specialty food shops, supermarkets, butchers, and the fishmonger gathering the best ingredients for our cooking session. Once we return to my home, we will start with baking Irish soda bread setting the foundation for a day of learning, hands-on cooking, and storytelling.

Throughout the session, we will focus on essential culinary skills while embracing my philosophy that simplicity is elegance.

I will guide you through:

- Ingredient Maximization & Sustainability, Store Cupboard Essentials

- Utilizing every part of our ingredient with a no-waste approach, including making stocks and composting vegetable trimmings.

- Key Culinary Techniques - Preparing and handling herbs, spices, meats, and seafood with confidence.

- Mastering some Sauces & Dressings - Crafting well-balanced flavours to elevate any dish.

- Perfecting Mise En Place

- Understanding the importance of preparation for seamless cooking.

Beyond the Kitchen:

Cooking is about more than just food it's about creating an experience, explore the art of entertaining.

- Menu Planning, Table Setting & Styling - creating an inviting table scape.

Of course we will enjoy a leisurely lunch together, perhaps accompanied by a little tipple!

If you have specific dishes you would love to learn we can incorporate them into the day or if time permits, we can extend the experience to a second session.
